Ooops! I was so excited with the new skin that I forgot... the weather! See it at the end of this post.

Today I freed my second book. I left it at the entrance of Park Building (the Uni, Humanities). If there is no news from this book, I will completely despair of higher education and so-called 'university students'.

We are also waiting for an answer about the appartment we want to rent. The landlord has to say something about the smoking policy. If they do not want to accept a smoker, then we stay where we are. And fuck their precious smoking policies when they have such a bad taste when carpeting the whole place in bright deep green. What do they think, that we want to play golf in our appartment or what?!

After a bit of ranting about non-smoking policies...

We met Cartman for a pub luch yesterday. Very nice and sunny. Had two Pimms' and lemonade and wonderful cod&chips. Yes! fush&chups but they were wonderful. I would say first prize for fush&chups goes to... The pub with no name! Second prize goes to...a Cafe/take-aways in Penzance (horror! I forgot their name!) which is situated in Penzance's seaside promenade. Not difficult to find. They make lovely fush&chups. Fried at the moment, delicious, non-greasy and tasty.

I wish I had Dreamweaver, I could design beaaaauuutiful skins for my blog. But I don't have it. I have tried downloading it for free (trial version, it must be max 30 days) but the thing gets stuck and it does not download anything at all. Arrrrghhh!!!

And finally, yes! the weather...
Cloudy
Relative Humidity 88
Wind Speed (mph) 9( SW )
Pressure (mB) 1002, Rising
Visibility Good

This is the new skin! The name is Orange. It was provided by Blogskins. Many thanks to the designer : Nanci. Simple but nice and refreshing, I think!

ahhh...to go home and have a ....
I released my first book into the wild today. See Bookcrossing How exciting! Who will it find it? Or..would it be found? And if yes..will they go to ghe bookcrossing website and register it as found? Questions, questions, questions...!!!!

I have to admit the book was quite bad. I do not have many books here, so I just 'got rid' of the one I did not like. I had received it as a free gift from Reader's Digest, just to 'entice' me to become a member. I did not become a member but I kept the book. It was for free, wasn't it? And I did not know if I would like it or not. So I read the first two stories. Arrrrggghh!! They were horrid romantic stories! Barbara Taylor Bradford and such. I never managed to read the third (and last) story. But the thing is, there is a market for those books. They have their readers. So I guess that the book may be found by a person who just love this type of literature. There! I have done something good today! I am a good scout, a good scout a good scoooouuutt!!!

Other things... this evening we are going to see a couple of houses to rent. The place where we live now is all right, but could be better. We are 2 minutes walk from the beach and the pier and we have an allocated parking space. But... we don't have a sea view or a garden. It seems we are asking for the impossible!

The weather is crappie crap today..see :

Just a short note to say yesterday I discovered a special website Bookcrossing . I intend to set some books free here in my city.

But not now because in half an hour I have to be taking the minutes of a meeting. Aaaaarrrrgghhhh!!!!

Anyway, got a phone call from the lettings agency. We have arranged for 2 viewings on Friday. First one is an appartment with parking on the sea front. The second is a house with garden and garage. Unfortunately, this second one is almost out of the city and it is furnished. It is cheaper, though. Oh well, we'll see!!

How curious. There is this website (Asian, I guess, cute as Hello Kitty, oh yes!)where you complete a questionnaire and voila! It tells you where you come from, what type of eyes you have, what type of girl you are, what type of bride (!!) you will be... So I come from an ancient civilization, eh? Ah well... At least the picture appears on the blog. I have been trying to post other pictures from my photo album in yahoo and the images would not appear. I wonder what is the problem...
Anyway...this is another of this personality tests...jeeeeezzz!! a vampire!? who me??

A otra cosa, mariposa, as they say in Spanish...
Yesterday we watched a video film with Cate Blanchett, The Gift Not very good. Keanu Reeves did also appear, but apart from shouting, beating his wife and being convicted (and then saved) for murder, he did not do much else. I hope the other film left is better. Is 'Ring' but not 'The Ring' which was the Western version but the Japanese 'Ring'. I think I will be very well qualified to compare them, after watching 'The Ring' twice when flying NZ-Oz.

We had a big thunderstorm yesterday. It caught with us as we were driving back home, after spending the afternoon & evening in Cartman's place, where we had a bbq. How nice! I was a sad minority, compared to the 2 tchecks and 7 kiwis.
There was also beach on Saturday, what a nice weather!

It took Slippery Kitten ages to come back home from the office in FNW yesterday. They missed the train and had to take another train going via that city where once we forgot Slippery Kitten's passport in a restaurant. But then there was a fire between two stations in that line. So after much trouble and strife, Slippery Kitten collapsed home at about 9pm.

Meanwhile, I fell asleep reading The Antipope by R Rankin. How could I?? Alan Smiths' phone call woke me up in time to shove some food in the oven. I promise I am not buying again the fresh breaded lemon sole! It was soft, tasteless and had fishbones on it!! To start with I did not want breaded lemon sole, but a couple of lemon sole fillets. But they had run out of them in the supermarket, so they replaced them for breaded lemon sole. Aggggjjjj!! disgusting! The New Zealand frozen hoki is much much better! Oh my...and what am I doing now, talking about food??!!

The photocopier will soon explode. Probably. I am copying all the annual reports for Wednesday. I have already changed the toner cartridge, we ran out of ink this morning. It is our new photocopier, so it has never had such a huge amount of copies to make. This is the little machine challenge of the year. Will it graduate cum laude from it?

OK the weather is promising for the weekend. It is SUNNY!!! According to some weather forecasts, it will be a sunny weekend. I hope so. I would like to go to the beach tomorrow (maybe another mini-bbq?) and then we have a bbq (yes!) in Cartman's place on Sunday.

We had our barbie, glorious barbie on the beach yesterday evening. We got carried away in the supermaket because we were VERY VERY hungry and full of expectaction and so on. We bought a lot of meat. Four big sausages, 2 huge burgers, 2 veal steaks, 4 lamb ribs. Myyyyy!!!! And a Caesar's salad. We also took a box of strawberries and a bag of Doritos. And we almost exploded, after wolfing down all that food. OK, not all of it. We left 1 sausage, the box of strawberries, 1 veal steak and most of the Doritos bag. Even so, it was too much. I did not do my Tai Chi yesterday, as you can imagine.

The system went back to normality yesterday afternoon. I hurried to print the reports, just in case, you never know if the damnnnnn thing will crash again! Now only to worry about getting all the appraisals, photocopying them, taking the FRDC minutes next Weds and then worrying again about the 2nd of July paperwork. I bet the system will crash again on the 1st!!!

Today, as the weather forecast says below, it is hazy. Well, finally they got it right,eh? Even if it is not too hot outside, here it is quite warm, what with the computers and printer and photocopier and so on. The fan is on. Amazing!

Ahhhh!! What a great weekend!!! We went to the beach!! ha ha haaaaa!!! To the beach!!!! Yes!!! we can go to the beach in this country!! I wonder....Am I becoming a native?
If tonight it is still nice, we are planning to buy a box BBQ and some sausages and then go to the beach and have a little barbie. Yessss!!!!

The "crash-programme-just-when-we-need-it-most" scare has happened again. It started on Friday afternoon and it is still in full swing this morning. So we can't print the reports for tomorrow's UAB. Horrrrroooorrrr!!!! Thank Paul Oakenfold* I managed to print the first page for each unit, which is the essential page with the marks and calculations. If not, I would have had to write down the marks one by one and then do the calculations by myself. All would have been wrong. Considering I always failed maths...
Even if the other two reports are missing it does not really matter because they were mostly statistics.

* I said 'Thank Paul Oakenfold' just as I could have said 'Thank Harry Potter'. Just to change a bit from the usual 'Thank god, thank heavens' and so on, which are based in religion and do not make any sense to me. Apa! which is Catalan for something like 'there you go' or 'here you have it'.

Interested in sentimental baseball films? Look at Hardball and don't complain if you don't like it. Slippery Kitten has already warned you!

I keep trying with the Tai Chi. Well, in fact with the warming up exercices, which is the only part of the video tape I can understand. It is slow and painful. Next month, I'll get an aerobics video tape!!

Morning accident : just arrived at the office, took the can of Coke out of my bag...and psssssss!!! it had a hole and Coke was spraying all my clothes and desk. A shower of Coke, first thing in the morning. What we all want! Now the can is in my dustbin, non-stop spraying.

Also, pondering about buying a DVD. Slippery Kitten asks if it is a need or a want. I wonder! There are two extremely cheap DVDs for £69. One is Hitachi, the other is Alba. Never heard of Alba. What to do?

Had a really good sleep the other night and feel heaps better. Early morning tomorrow - heading up to London for 3 meetings in 2.5 hours. I bullied our IT people to get me a laptop so I can now work on the train. Initially they told me they that they could no longer provide laptops because the old standard model is now obsolete, but the new standard model has not been released! I didn't take no for an answer which I think shocked and surprised them.

I've given up on the Tai Chi. I don't have the paitience. We watched a video this evening called 'Hardball' with Keanu Reeves. I thought it was going to be an action film but it was a sentimental baseball movie.

This is my first post. Thehorror just made me a member. This is a bad time to try and write something because I am damn tired. Maybe another time.
Yesterday afternoon I installed the Fish Counter and the Tell a Fish! feature. And I've had 2 visitors!! wow wow wow! Fame and posthumous recognition are awaiting for me! Oops! delete posthumous. I am not dead. Yet. I have till the 5th September 2036.

Then there's the Alfred the Great connection. On Sunday we watched this programme on tv, the History of English (the ups and downs of the English language, very interesting) and of course, Alfred the Great was there. Yesterday we got another video tape, Simon Schama's History of Britain and there was Alfred again. Now it's a fact! Any first chapter of any history programme will mention Alfred! No matter if it starts with the Iron Age or with the Romans, the first chapter will always finish with Alfred.

So, of course, when I got this Tai Chi video tape, I was expecting to see Alfred, even if I am perfectly aware of Tai Chi being Chinese. Que hi farem! - which means something like "nevermind" in Catalan. Any better translations? Back to the Tai Chi video, Alfred was not there. And the poor quality of the teaching is unbearable. We managed the warming up, that's something. After that, all the positions became so complicated and so badly explained that we got frustrated and repeated the warming up while cooking some chicken with olives.

Ah, well!! Slippery Kitten found out the malicious emails were not sent by an ex-work colleague or friend. It was the bugbear2 virus, which resends itself using old emails stored in Outlook. This is why I received an old email from myself and work-related emails! I can breathe again! It is only a very clever virus and not an acquaintance going nuts and trying to destroy the world. Good.

On Saturday, the bell rang at 800am. Too early. We went on sleeping. Later on, we saw a note from the post office. There was a packet to be collected. Wow wow wow! Did I win a trip to Rio de Janeiro? Brazil la la la la la la laaaa Braziiiiil...Braziiiiiiil...
I went this morning to collect the misterious packet. It was a soft toy dog from Daz, the washing powder. Goodbye to my Brazilian dreams. Sniff sniff sob sob.

Saw an amusing blog this afternoon. The creator reminds me of another Argentinian guy whom I met years ago. Gustavo, donde estas pibe?
This is the link if you can read Spanish HighToro
Today I am angry. More than angry. I feel like killing!

Somebody has created an email address similar to mine, written a short note, signed with my name and send it to my ex-work colleagues. With an attachment. With a virus.

The only mistake this idiot has made is sending it to me as well. Surprise, surprise, I had sent an email to myself! When? While sleepwalking? While the voices talk to me? No way. The voices have a sore throat. So it was not them!

I am pissed off. This very personalised way of sending viruses pisses me off. Somebody impersonating me pisses me off. Go and impersonate Victoria Beckham!

Later on, I have realised it was not only me. Other ex-work colleagues were also sending emails with viruses. It means it is an ex-work colleague who is doing it. Or somebody hacking to the company's intranet. Ah, the misteries of internet....

I am currently reading 'The sprouts of wrath' by Robert Rankin.
And have two more Rankin's waiting to be read at home.
I can see it will be like the Pratchettmania I got a year ago, when I read absolutely every T Pratchett book in a month. And the Adamsmania, when I read any Douglas Adams available.
Ah, these addictions!!!
They keep us alive, eh?

So click herefor Pratchett and Discworld
And here for another brief addiction to Red Dwarf
And finally here for Rankin and his abominable sprouts
Enjoy!
