Yesterday we saw the 2 part series documentary Kitty Hawk: The Wright Brothers journey of invention . We thought it was a gripping documentary, definitely worth watching. I especially like the detail of Neil Armstrong and John Glenn lending their voices to impersonate the Wright Brothers . I thought it was a very nice touch. The great astronaut pioneers lending their voices to the great fathers of modern aviation. It was also moving to see the Kitty Hawk dunes (or better, the Kill Devil Hill dunes as Kitty Hawk is the name of the village nearby)again. We especially drove out of out route to the Outer banks in our trip from Washington DC to Florida last December. It was worth it, for stepping in the place where mankind took the first successful flight in 17th December 1903. Since that day we have not stopped flying. We have reached the stars and we will keep on going. Maybe one day we will come back from far away and visit planet Earth just as I visited Kitty Hawk last year, as an historic place to be remembered.


Ayer vimos el documental de 2 capitulos titulado Kitty Hawk: The Wright Brothers journey of invention . Nos parecio un documental con mucho gancho, bien realizado, que vale la pena ver. Me gusto especialmente el detalle de Neil Armstrong y John Glenn 'prestando' sus voces para hacer hablar a los hermanos Wright . Los pioneros de la astronautica dando su voz a los padres de la aviacion moderna. Y fue emotivo ver las dunas de Kitty Hawk otra vez. O mejor dicho, las dunas de Kill Devil Hill , porque Kitty Hawk es el nombre del pueblo mas cercano. En Diciembre del pasado anio nos salimos de nuestra ruta entre Washington DC y Florida para ir especialmente a la zona de los Outer Banks y visitar Kitty Hawk. Valio la pena. Puede parecer una zona de dunas como cualquier otra, pero en realidad estabamos siguiendo los pasos de los hermanos Wright cuando la humanidad dio un salto el 17 de Diciembre de 1903 y conseguimos, por fin, volar. Desde ese dia, no hemos parado. Hemos llegado a las estrellas. Y seguiremos adelante. Y puede ser que llegue un dia en que volvamos de muy lejos y visitemos este planeta Tierra como yo visite Kitty Hawk, como un lugar historico.
